How to invite an Admin to Your Squarespace Website
Want to give someone access to your Squarespace site without sharing your login? You can invite contributors with specific permission levels, keeping your credentials safe while letting others do their job.
1. Log into your Squarespace admin panel
Go to your website URL and add /config to the end — for example, yoursite.com/config. If you're already logged in, this takes you straight to the dashboard. If not, you'll be prompted to sign in first.
2. Go to Permissions & Ownership
In the left-hand sidebar, click Settings. Scroll down to find Permissions & Ownership and click to open it. This is where you manage everyone who has access to your site.
3. Click "Invite Contributor"
You'll see a button labelled Invite Contributor. Click it, then enter the person's name and email address. If they already have a Squarespace account, use the email associated with it, this keeps all their sites accessible from one login.
4. Choose their permission level
We as web designers only operate on an “Administrator” permission level, due to the types of requests that you need us to do.
There are more limited roles (like website editor, analytics viewer or store manager) keep things appropriately restricted. Scroll down for a breakdown of all the available permission levels.
5. Send the invitation
Toggle on the permissions you've chosen, then click Invite. Squarespace will email them a link to set their password and access your site. If they don't receive it, ask them to check their spam or junk folder.
Plan limits: Depending on your Squarespace plan, there may be a cap on how many contributors you can invite. If you hit the limit, you may need to upgrade your plan to add more people.
